Learn More: C-store Sale System Upgrade
February 26, 2025

To Our Valued Members,

At Clearview Co-op, we are committed to serving our members with integrity, innovation, and a strong community focus. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our services, we will be implementing a new point-of-sale (POS) system at our convenience and gas bar locations, starting on March 17, 2025. This investment in 2025-26, will introduce new fuel pumps totalling over $2 million dollars as well as pay-at-the-pump functionality at all our fuel stations, offering greater convenience for our members. The transition will occur one location at a time, beginning with our Mitchell site. Throughout this process, your Co-op member number and charge accounts will remain unchanged.

With the change to a new system, there will be changes required to how we handle charge accounts at our gas bar/convenience stores. Beginning May 1, 2025, as our locations transition to the new POS system, they will no longer have the ability to look up member numbers, as our new POS system will not support member number searches. Therefore, individuals and businesses that wish to charge purchases at our locations must know their Co-op member number at the time of the transaction. Additionally, because of the new POS system we will no longer have access to member details, special notes, or account considerations as well.

To assist with this transition, Clearview Co-op is happy to provide temporary cards that can be used by you or your staff to record your member number for charging at our C-stores.

It is important to understand that any risks or liabilities associated with charging will be solely the responsibility of the account holder. If an account is compromised, all transactions made on that account will remain the responsibility of the individual or business.

As a reminder, the following excerpt from our Credit Application outlines these responsibilities: “You assume full responsibility for all purchases made on your charge account, including: (a) all interest charges; (b) all charges and purchases made in excess of the credit limit; and (c) all charges and purchases made by any individual who has actual or apparent authority to use your account.”

Another option available to businesses is our Fleet Card program, which is provided by Federated Co-op Limited. This solution provides greater control over charge account transactions, allowing businesses to customize features to meet their specific needs while managing individual user access. Fleet Cards offer enhanced security and flexibility, making them an excellent choice for companies seeking a more tailored approach to fuel and convenience purchases. At Clearview Co-op, our commitment extends beyond business—we are dedicated to supporting our local community. We strive to provide high-quality service while reinvesting in the communities we serve through local initiatives, sponsorships, and partnerships. This system upgrade is part of our broader effort to modernize our operations while continuing to prioritize the needs of our members. We appreciate your understanding as we make these changes to enhance security, efficiency, and convenience for everyone.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support and cooperation throughout this transition. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact your local Co-op C-store Manager. Thank you for being a valued part of Clearview Co-op—we look forward to serving you and our community for years to come.

Sincerely,
Geoff Dilts
